Manchek pulls a key out of his pocket, and walks toward a door marked “EMERGENCY ONLY.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He enters a small room and turns on the overhead light. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Looking at the key’s fob, a tag says “In case of FIRE, Notify Division 21 Emergency Only.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Manchek inserts the key in a wall phone and picks up the receiver. He dials eight numbers on the rotary phone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Electronic noises are heard, and then a voice comes on the speaker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“This is a recording,” says the voice. “State your name and your message, and hang up.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Major Arthur Manchek, Scoop Mission Control A-12,” says Manchek. “I recommend calling a Wildfire Alert. We have evidence here on film of unnatural death caused by Scoop Seven returning to Earth. Time check: zero one four seven, inclusive.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He looks at the receiver. More machine noises are heard from the phone. He hangs up the phone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A teletype machine begins printing on screen:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
