“… at ten to the twelfth bit,” says an announcement. Stone moves the pincers to the second mechanical arm. “For any change in memory configuration, CLT’s must check their Unicom op,” continues the announcement.
With the second robot arm, Stone navigates the pincers into Scoop VII’s interior. On a small monitor, a perspiring Stone lowers the pincers near the tiny rock. Grabbing the rock, Stone quickly moves the pincers out of the spacecraft, while the lifting crane lowers a glass box containing a Petri dish.
Stone, now perspiring heavily, opens the door to the glass box, and removes the lid of the Petri dish with a robot arm. He moves the pincers above he Petri dish and opens the pincers, allowing the rock to fall into the dish.
As he finishes the procedure, he powers down the robot arms.
“Beautiful, sir!” says a man standing next to him.
